4:20 pm We all can think of many inventions anddiscoveries that have changed our world, from the wheel to the cell phone. Three years ago, Ashok Rao, a serial entrepreneur and restauranteur - he owns Song Kran Thai restaurant in Uptown Park - mesmerized us with stories of some basic technologies that altered the way we live and evolved. Ashok has spent a lot of time and research and is back again with six more fascinating stories. He joins us today in the first of a series of six episodes to explain these, starting with the story of the Tulip Bubble.

4:50 pm With the Trump administration's crackdown onillegal immigrants and reports of harassment of Permanent Residents and even citizens re-entering the country, many long time residents who are eligible are considering becoming citizens. There were 818,000 permanent residents in 2024, and 360,000 are eligible. But the pathway toward citizenship is getting more expensive and difficult. Today, we are joined by Angie Dupree, the Citizenship Coordinator for the National Partnership for New Americans to talk about the lessons learned from national and Houston campaigns.

5:20 pm Born in Mumbai and raised in the Zoroastrian community, Nev March is a writer of mystery and historical fiction, writing short stories, poems and novels since she was eleven. After a twenty year career as a data scientist, Nev returned to writing full time in 2015 to write MURDER IN OLD BOMBAY, and has written more novels since then. She will be in Houston next Friday, May 30 at Murder by the Book, a bookstore at 2342 Bissonnet, to promote her latest novel, The Silversmith’s Puzzle set in 1894 India. She calls in today from her home in New Jersey.
